James Twyman Oregon Folk Singer Headed To SYRIA to Perform Peace Concert for ISIS: How Do You Think Its Gonna End? speaker james twyman

James Twyman

An Oregon folk singer plans to leave next week to serenade the Islamic State, and he intends to bring the black-clad barbarians a prayerful message of peace — despite a warning from the State Department that his life could be in danger. How do you think this is going to end? This dude might just win the ‘Darwin Award.’ [1][14] James Twyman, of Portland, Ore., told FoxNews.com he feels a “calling” and believes he can soften the hearts of the Islamist army known for beheading Westerners, throwing gays off buildings and summarily executing innocent women and children. [1] “It’s going to be pretty powerful,” Twyman said, referring to his plan to have those attending and others around the world sing and pray for peace at the same time. “When people come together and focus on something in a positive way … there’s scientific evidence that it can change things for the better.” [1] [4] As an example of scientific evidence, Twyman cites a vigil he participated in in 1999 where “at least two million people” focused their prayers at the same moment thAT air strikes were set to begin in Iraq. “Miraculously, in the face of such overwhelming spiritual energy, the air strikes were abandoned,” Twyman said. [5] The author and self-styled “peace troubadour” has put traditional prayers from various faiths to song. Twyman leaves Jan. 20, and plans to stop in Italy before heading to Israel. From there, he will then cross over the northern border shared with Syria to a small Druze village. [4] While that village, Majdal Shams, is occupied by Israel, he hopes to travel beyond the town’s limits and into ISIS-controlled territory and be able to give a concert featuring various Christian and Islamic prayers set to music. The story doesn’t say if the man is aware of the fact that the Islamic State has banned most forms of music as sinful under its interpretation of sharia law. [3] Twyman is, however, perfectly aware of the kidnappings, the high-profile beheadings, the whole war, the State Department Syria travel warning, and all that jazz. He says that, despite his website’s bold phrasing, he is taking all necessary precautions for his potential ISIS-land gig. Twyman claims he will be joined by a group of Jewish, Muslim and Christian religious leaders who will lead the faithful from their respective religions in prayer. [3] If Twyman’s fellow peace activists can’t get him into a place where he can perform for some people living under ISIS rule, his fallback plan is to play his set in a safe area “overlooking an ISIS-controlled area.” From there, he and his team will sing the Islamic prayer for peace, as the “Peace Troubadour” strums his acoustic guitar. What does he think this will accomplish?

… [T]he mission is to rally as many people as possible, via the Internet, to simultaneously “focus our Affirmative Prayers on ISIS” in order to—miraculously, somehow, in unprecedented fashion—stem the bloodshed through divine intervention. (Godspeed.)

It’s not the first time Twyman try to get killed. Before the syrian adventure Twyman performed in Baghdad in the late 1990s after Operation Desert Storm; in Bosnia and Croatia during the Balkan War in 1995, and has even performed previously in Syria to spread his message of peace through song. [1]

Here’s a sample of the music ISIS militants will get to hear:

KPTV – FOX 12
In the video, you can see this clown singing a verse from the Qur’an: “And if they incline to peace, then incline to it and rely upon Allah” (8:61). Doubtless the Islamic State jihadis will hear this (and understand it in English), and their eyes will fill with tears as they lay down their arms and embrace James Twyman, the lovable lug, in a big bear hug. [6] Never mind that no Islamic jurists understand that Qur’an verse as superseding the book’s many commands to wage war against and subjugate unbelievers; like Robert Spencer said “the very idea that some Leftist guitar picker from Portland can go over to the Islamic State and sing a Qur’an verse in English, and that this will bring peace, epitomizes the Leftist detachment from reality.” [6] Not to put a downer on this trip or Twyman’s intentions, but he is delusional if he thinks this will be a “give peace a chance” John Lennon moment. Liberals do believe if we could just “talk it out” and appeal to the terrorists as fellow human beings, they will have an epiphany, putting down their guns and machetes to begin gathering daisies while singing Kumbaya.
